Aloft again
Art credit Maxfield Parrish, Morning, 1922
Aloft again
and leaving from this pleasing place,
            I gaze across the clouds
      that form so fleetingly.
Imagining
the planet, shy beneath the haze,
            emanating vapor
      as a breathing being,
repeating life
in cycles since the Birth of Days,
            waning and renewing
      effervescently,
intent to vent
and breathe the pains and yearns away,
             then bathe beneath the rain
      that falls refreshingly.
And so it is
      with essences I do believe,
              who bond beyond this life
      in which we congregate.
Agreeing when we leave
      that we’ll return and meet,
             to play again someday
      and navigate our way
across the Sky of Lifetimes,
      floating on the breeze,
              flying into skyscapes
      while we celebrate,
finding one another
       as we waft and wend
              our way to better weather,
                    now aloft again.
