Today,
  Day begins to lengthen.
    Light crowds out Darkness, 
      Brightness strengthens.   

          Rising…
            yours and mine,
              warming hearths
                of Heart and Mind. 

                    Like Ole Sol,
                    Hope is there
                        even when hidden
                          in cloudy despair. 

                              By the glow
                                of solstice rising,
                                  I’ll believe
                                    in brighter horizons.
